Welcome

Whether your son or daughter has recently joined the Group or is now moving up to a new section, I would, on behalf of the Group, like to welcome you all to the 1st Burgess Hill.

The 1st Burgess Hill is a thriving and growing Group and, with its recently established second Beaver Colony, boasts a total of 6 sections, two for each age group.

Although Scouting worldwide celebrates its Centenary this year it has never been as relevant to young children as it is today.  Scouting complements both the school and the family, filling needs not otherwise met.  Scouting develops self-knowledge and the need to explore and discover.

Scouting helps promote personal development, competence and self confidence.

Scouting is not just for the children.  It also provides stimulating opportunities for adults.  The availability of Scouting for our youngsters is only made possible through the commitment of its Leaders, regular helpers, supporters, families and friends.  In order to provide beneficial programmes of activities and stimulation we depend on your help.

It is well know that children gain greater benefit from Scouting when they are supported by their families and friends.  So please ask your child’s Section Leader to find out how you can help share in the rewards.
