Southdown Scout Fellowship

What is the Scout Fellowship?
The Scout Fellowship enjoys supporting Scouting.
Scouting depends on many adults giving much of their spare time to accept the responsibilities of leadership. To make best use of their time and talents the Scout Movement needs men and women to support those leaders. People who lead and administer Scouting in a District , County or Area also need support. The Scout fellowship is in business to provide that support. When it does, the Scout Movement as a whole benefits, from the Leader to the young people in their care.
Members of the Fellowship are in Scouting, sharing its commitment, service and enjoyment. An integral part of a national and world-wide family of many millions.
The key word is FELLOWSHIP and the Southdown Scout Fellowship is a group of friends with unlimited opportunities for serving others and enjoying a programme of activities of their own choice.

Who can join?
Membership of the Fellowship is open to anybody of 18 years or more who believes that Scouting plays an important and worthwhile role in helping young people and who accepts the Scout Promise and Law as practical and necessary standards in today's world.

What Commitment is required?
There is no minimum requirement on time given. Any offer of help to local Scouting and you spare what time you can.

About the Southdown District Scout Fellowship
We are a small but active group of all ages. Many of us have been or still are Leaders within the Scout or Guide Movements.
We generally meet socially once a month. Quite often this will be in a pub or a member's home. In between these meetings there are opportunities to be involved in a whole host of differentr activities.
